Ken Nielsen, P.E.
Ken Nielsen is a licensed professional engineer with over 40 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering and construction. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from MSU and serves as president of The Nielsen Group. a consulting engineering firm with a focus on energy reduction. Our services include but are not limited to energy audits, efficiency improvements, utility rebates, certifications, feasibility studies, process engineering, project development, project management and technical due diligence.
Clients include forest products, minerals, power, manufacturing, biofuels, green chemistry, food & beverage, schools, hospitals and commercial facilities. The Nielsen Group is familiar with both conventional and renewable energy. During his career, Ken Nielsen has saved employers and clients over $100 million in energy costs.
Jason Beale is co-owner of Wright Energy Partners, an energy efficiency contractor that specializes in Lighting, Building Envelope, HVAC, Roofing and Solar. We handled energy audits, efficiency improvements, utility rebates, project development, project management and Product supply. Jason has a bachelor’s in general business with a concentration in Finance. Our services include but are not limited to energy audits, efficiency improvements, utility rebates, certifications, feasibility studies, process engineering, project development, project management and technical due diligence.
Wright Energy Partners works closely with DTE, Consumers Energy, Com-Ed, Dominion Energy and Pepco Energy in their energy efficiency for business and direct install programs. In 2019 Wright Energy was voted Contractor of the Year by the Michigan Energy Efficiency Contractors Association (MEECA) for its customer focused approach of delivering high value to all of it’s energy efficiency projects.
A native Detroiter, Doug is a business professional with an extensive record of achievement driving sales and profitability through a focus on marketing, public relations, team building and exceptional customer service. In 2011 he co-founded Detroit, Michigan based Greenlancer.com, a cloud-based solar energy design service and one of the Quicken Loans family of companies. More recently, he has become an advocate for PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) financing and partnered with Newman Consulting Group LLC, a internationally recognized team of experts in commercial and industrial energy management, to help building owners and facility managers implement energy conservation measures without huge capital expenses.
Kevin Anderson is a high-energy professional and a strategic thinker with a passion for client success. Kevin has enjoyed 17 years in the Energy industry as a successful leader in Engineering, Operations, Project and Program Management, and Strategy roles in Power Generation (Coal, Natural Gas, Pumped Storage, River Hydro and Renewables), Asset Strategy, Gas Compression & Storage, and Electric Transmission & Distribution. He also has experience in Energy Policy and Regulatory arenas with the State of Michigan Congress and the Michigan Public Service Commission.
Kevin has been a Senior Project Manager with Development Solutions Midwest for two years. DSM is proud to have saved clients over $110 million in energy costs and obtained over $10 million in utility incentives for clients. Development Solutions Midwest provides energy analytics, project management, construction and outage management, industrial and manufacturing operations expertise, utility incentives management, energy waste reduction project design, analysis, and implementation, and other value-added services. DSM is a trade ally with dozens of utilities and works with industrial, manufacturing, and commercial clients across 17 states and 3 countries.
Kevin has a BA in Physics and Calculus from Spring Arbor University, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He is also a certified Project Management Professional. Kevin resides in Jackson, MI with his wife, Sarah, and two children, Luke and Grace.
Cedric is responsible for Business Development activities at Amatis Controls where he is responsible for driving growth opportunities in the Midwest. Cedric provides support to strategic partners where he conducts building audits in order to prepare lighting controls strategies that maximize energy savings and local rebate opportunities, meet local and regional standards/regulations and to make buildings smarter with Amatis's IoT-driven lighting controls system. Cedric has a degree in Business Management and Psychology from Michigan Technological University and is committed to energy-reducing technologies that will support Michigan's energy reduction and sustainability goals.
As a Territory manager at Behler-Young Company in Warren, MI. Pete is responsible for growing and maintaining a $8,000,000.00 sales territory. He is also an energy solutions specialist helping mechanical contractors to provide energy savings for their customers.
Sean McCoy is the Head of Section and Operations Manager for DNV GL’s Detroit office. In his current role, he manages the day-to-day operations and a staff of over 40 people who implement DTE’s Commercial and Industrial Incentive Program. Prior to joining DNV GL in Detroit, Mr. McCoy designed and contracted over 140 solar PV Kilo-watts and over one million solar thermal BTUs. He brings with him over twenty years experience as a sales engineer and designer in the engineered wood product industry and has an extensive knowledge in all aspects of construction and renewable energy.
As director of business development Malcolm Miller is responsible for identifying and creating business opportunities for the Walker-Miller Energy Services Team. He manages operational marketing and new and existing customer relationships. Malcolm also leads a large portion of the community engagement that is done in Detroit and is responsible for identifying mentorship and volunteer opportunities that help us maintain visibility in the communities that we serve. Going into his sixth year as a WMES employee, Malcolm has served in several different roles and understands the company's goals, culture, and people in a way that enables him to promote Walker-Miller Energy Services brand very efficiently.
Todd has his own energy services company, Efficient NRG Services and is the program coordinator for the Michigan SAVES commercial loan program.
Ryan is a second generation energy manager with Pure Eco Environmental Solutions, Inc. based in Troy, MI. Pure Eco serves both residential and commercial clients.
Kirstin Policastro is Sustainability Professional and Project Manager with E Three Inc. an Energy Services Firm based in Traverse City, MI. Ms. Policastro is a practicing Sustainability Professional, focusing on helping businesses with the development and implementation of sustainable business practices. Kirstin’s work at E Three involves energy management system development and execution, business case study, retro-commissioning, measurement and verification, investment grade audit, assessment, and analysis, recommendation and oversight of implementation of energy efficiency improvements and/or new construction for clients in Michigan and throughout the Midwest.
Prior to joining E Three, Kirstin worked in corporate lending and banking in the Northeast, she is a resident of Old Mission Peninsula in Traverse City where she lives with her husband Bill and daughter Olivia.
Frank Schulmeister, CEM, CEA, CLEP
Frank is Vice President of Energy Sciences Resource Partners, LLC based out of Birmingham, MI. He has over 25 years of energy experience in demand side and supply side energy management for utility operations, building energy management, performance contracting and international consulting in the commercial, industrial, retail and institutional sectors.
